After the forced hiatus caused by the pandemic, Samuel Bonnet chose to examine our disrupted relationship with time rather than plunge back into the prevailing frenzy. Inspired by the Italian “slow life” and Indian Ayurveda, he realized how much the “everything, right now” tyranny had undermined his balance. By rediscovering his natural rhythm, he has made slowness the key to the happiness he has been building in Montreal for fifteen years.
With SLOW, he explores essential themes: childhood, family, nature, creativity, love, and the simple joy of the present moment. His music affirms a hybrid identity, blending jazz spontaneity with classical precision. Surrounded by sensitive and like-minded collaborators, Samuel creates a democratic micro-community founded on listening and freedom. SLOW thus offers an intimate acoustic experience, a protected space where the listener is invited to “press pause so as not to go faster than the music.”
